Despite a long career in piano, Kinako felt an intangible yearning that she couldn't quite define. Her path of expression eventually expanded from the keys to the paper. Currently, she creates works that float within a world where the boundaries between music and painting dissolve.
■ Statement
Rachmaninoff’s "Vocalise" was originally composed for voice (soprano). In this piece, I have sought to express the even more fragile and luscious tones of the piano arrangement.
