〈時を超えて出会う 島と世界の物語〉
1708年10月、イタリアから日本へ。
ジョバンニ・パッティスタ・シドッティが上陸した屋久島の地に、
その記憶と出会いの場として、2026年5月、シドッティ記念館が生まれました。
300年以上の時を超えて、島と世界、人と人との出会いを今に伝える場所。
そのシドッティ記念館で「いのちの雫」と題した絵画展を開催します。
屋久島の自然に触れ、そこから生まれた作品たち。
植物、水、土。
そのすべてに宿る、いのちの雫。
水彩画、砂鉄画、赤土画など、
屋久島の自然から受け取ったものを描いた作品を展示します。
屋久島の自然とともに、
モッチョム岳を望む心地よいカフェの空間で、
ゆっくりと絵を眺める時間をお楽しみいただけたら嬉しいです。

In October 1708, Giovanni Battista Sidotti arrived in Yakushima, traveling all the way from Italy to Japan.
In May 2026, the Sidotti Memorial Museum was established on the very land of his landing as a space for memory and encounter—a place that bridges the island and the world, connecting people across more than 300 years of history.
Within this meaningful space, we are holding a painting exhibition titled "Drops of Life."
These artworks were born from direct encounters with the nature of Yakushima. Plants, water, and earth—the drops of life that dwell within them all.
The exhibition features works created from elements received directly from Yakushima's environment, including watercolors, iron sand paintings, and red clay paintings.
Together with the lush nature of Yakushima, we hope you enjoy a peaceful time viewing the art in this cozy cafe space overlooking Mt. Mocchomu.
